Acceptable Use Policy
Effective August 24, 2026 · Version v1.4.0-2026-08-24
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") is part of our Terms of Service and applies to everything you send or store through Inventory Mailer. It exists for a simple reason: we share sending infrastructure across customers, so one sender's bad behavior can hurt everyone's deliverability. Keeping these rules keeps the whole platform trusted. Violations can lead to suspension or termination.
1. Consent and anti-spam
You may only email people who have given you permission to email them. That means an explicit opt-in (a newsletter signup, an account, a form) or a genuine established business relationship (a past customer or an active lead). You are responsible for complying with the anti-spam laws that apply to your recipients, including CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada, and the GDPR and ePrivacy rules in Europe.
The inquiry form on your public item pages and showcases is one such opt-in, and it is the only one the platform operates on your behalf. Someone who submits an inquiry is added to your contacts only if they tick the box asking to hear from you, and that ticked box is your record of their consent. Do not treat an inquiry on its own as permission to market to someone: a person asking a question about one item has not asked to join your list.
Every campaign you send through the platform automatically includes:
- A working unsubscribe link that an ordinary person can find and use, honored promptly (within 10 business days at the outside, and in practice right away).
- Your account's physical postal address in the footer.
- A truthful sender identity that matches the domain verified on your account.
Stripping, hiding, or falsifying any of these compliance elements is a violation of this policy and may also break the law. Your "From," "Reply-To," and routing information must be accurate, and your subject lines must not be deceptive.
2. Prohibited lists and sources
You may not send to, or upload, contacts obtained by:
- Purchasing, renting, or trading a list.
- Scraping or harvesting addresses from websites or other sources.
- Any means where the person neither knowingly agreed to hear from you nor entered into the business relationship described in Section 1.
3. Prohibited content
You may not use the Service to send, store, or promote:
- Phishing, malware, or links to malicious sites.
- Deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading offers.
- "Get rich quick" schemes, multi-level marketing pitches, or speculative token and crypto sales.
- Adult content, gambling, or controlled substances where unlawful for the recipient.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that promotes violence.
- Content that infringes intellectual property or violates someone else's privacy.
The Service is built for businesses that sell real inventory. It is not the right tool for generic bulk email unrelated to that purpose.
4. Deliverability and platform reputation
Because sending reputation is shared, behavior that harms it harms every other customer. We watch for warning signs and may step in, by rate-limiting your sends or temporarily pausing your account while we look into it, when we see things like:
- Sustained hard-bounce rates above 5%, spam-complaint rates above 0.3%, or unusually high unsubscribe rates.
- Sudden volume spikes from a new or unwarmed sending domain.
- Repeated sending to addresses already on a suppression list.
These thresholds are guidance, not a license up to the line. Good list hygiene (mailing people who want to hear from you, and removing those who do not) is the best way to stay well clear of them.
Your first send on a new domain. An older customer list will have gone stale, and a first send can bounce more heavily than a maintained list through no fault of yours. Tell us before you send and we will help you clean and warm the list. We will not suspend an account over the bounce rate of a first send on a list we helped you prepare.
5. No interfering with the Service
Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or to other customers' data, and do not use the Service to violate the security or privacy of others.
6. Suspension and termination
Material violations can result in immediate suspension. Where practical, we will tell you what triggered a suspension and what is needed to be reinstated. For serious or repeated violations (for example willful spam or sending phishing content), we may terminate the account without refund, as described in our Terms of Service.
7. Reporting abuse
If you received an email sent through our platform that violates this policy, report it to abuse@inventorymailer.com. We review every report.
